Baptism is a powerful symbol of what happens to us when we become Christ-followers. Going under the water represents the death of the old self, and coming up from the water represents our new life in Christ.

Come to discover the answers to questions you may have about baptism and get ready to dive deeper with Jesus as you prepare for this public demonstration of faith and commitment to Christ.

Facilitator: George Espinoza

Dates/Time: October 10th 9:00am

Where: Classroom A

How old does my child have to be to be baptized? There is not a set age that someone must be to be baptized. This is something between your child & God, not “this is the age I was baptized, so it will be the age my child gets baptized”. The most important thing is that your child has asked Christ to be their forever Savior. They should understand the message of salvation: That we were separated from God, the Sovereign Creator of all, holy, loving & true. We were separated because of sin (anything that we do, think or say that displeases God. i.e. lying, bad attitudes, stealing). Holiness (God’s very nature of Who He is) cannot associate with sin. BUT, God provided an answer to the sin problem: He sent His perfect One & Only Son Jesus to take our punishment for sin (“The wages of sin is death” Romans 3:23). He died on the cross, rose again & now lives in heaven. God has given this free gift of eternal life to anyone who would like to receive what Christ did at the cross for them.  If your child  has prayed to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior and is ready to take the next step in their walk with Jesus, we have a 2-part class on baptism that was designed especially for kids up through 5th grade.

Whether challenges to the Christian Faith come through questions about the origin of life ot matters of morality, the line of demarcation between truth and seductive error can be discovered, because it is located within God's Word. Come and explore the Bible's answers to fundamental questions, such as:

  • Can the Bible be trusted? Isn't it full of errors?
  • What about those who have never heard of Christ - are they lost?
  • Don' all roads lead to heaven? Is Jesus the only way?
  • Did Jesus really rise from the dead?
  • Why do the innocent suffer?

For Those Who Ask is a great introductory apologetics course developed by Dr. Jerry Rueb for anyone who desires to look into the Bible for answers, and for Christians who want to gain confidence in defending their faith.

Facilitator: Dave Newall and Penny Brush

Dates/Time: October 16th, 6:00-8:00p

Biblical Principles Resolving Conflict

Human conflict is one of the dreadful consequences of sin entering the world, but the Bible reveals the foundational understanding of how Christians can work together in unity and deal with conflict according to biblical principles.

It is helpful to keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with Christians disagreeing with one another. In this course you will explore positive ways to resolve conflict and also see how conflict can help you discover your character weaknesses, sharpen and correct your beliefs and grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

(2 Peter 3:18).

Miracle of the Bible Part 1 & 2

(canonization & preservation of Scripture)

The Bible is the most-quoted, most-published, most-translated and the most influential book in the history of humankind. But where did the Bible come from? How do we know the right books are in the Bible? Does the Bible contain errors? What are the oldest copies we have of the Bible? How do we know that the Bible hasn't been changed over the years?

These and many other questions about the origin, reliability and preservation of God's Word are answered in this historically informative course.
