A Living Hope

Passage: 1 Peter 1:3-5

Introduction: Today we celebrate that 2,000 years ago on resurrection morning in Jerusalem, Jesus, the Son of God, rose again in power over sin, death, and hell—just as He promised. After living a perfect life and then dying for our sins Jesus rose in power over death! By His glorious resurrection, Jesus broke the chains that held all sinful human souls captive since the fall. One of the first people to see the resurrected Christ was Peter; lets turn to his first letter to the churches to help us find the meaning of the events that shook the world.
