Long Beach Rescue Mission
What is it?
Long Beach Rescue Mission (LBRM) has served the disadvantaged and homeless of downtown Long Beach since 1972. LBRM is composed of two facilities: a men’s shelter, the “Samaritan House” and a women’s/children’s shelter, known as the “Lydia House”. The ministry offers healing and hope by loving each individual and equipping them to be reconciled to God, self, family & society.
You are invited to serve at the Long Beach Rescue Mission! Join a team from Cornerstone Church as we serve the lost and destitute of our city by providing a meal and sharing the hope of Christ. Adults, youth, and children over 10-years old can help prepare food and serve guests a hot meal. All are encouraged to stay afterward for a time of worship and teaching.
Volunteer hours are from 5 - 6:30 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of each month.

SERVE
Cornerstone teams serve at both the Lydia House (for women and children) and the Samaritan House (for men) on a regular basis. At the Lydia House, a team serves dinner twice a month and provides crafts and recreation for all attendees. Service at the Samaritan House takes place on the fourth Tuesday of the month and runs from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with the option to stay for chapel.
