CHURCH 101

SERIES DESCRIPTION

How has the church flourished for two thousand years despite withering criticism, internal problems, doctrinal controversies, and intense opposition? The only adequate explanation is that the church is the miraculous work of God! From its birth on the Day of Pentecost, the church of Jesus Christ has fulfilled Christ’s astounding prediction: “I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18) Today, the church exists as a dizzying variety of gatherings that differ in size, location, doctrine, culture, language, leadership, worship style, and much more. Given the diversity of the worldwide church, it is crucial to address questions like: What is the church? What is the church’s main message? What is the mission of the church? Who is qualified to lead? How should the church care for its own? What can the church do to protect itself from false teachers? The answers to these questions and more can be found in the New Testament book of 1 Timothy. The Apostle Paul, wrote his letter of 1 Timothy as a guide on “how one ought to conduct oneself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God.” (1 Timothy 3:15)

Church 101 is designed to help you understand God’s plan for His household, the true church “the pillar and buttress of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15)
