CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
A MINISTRY TO WIDOWS
Circle of Friends, a ministry to widows, exists to provide widows of Cornerstone Church and the community an opportunity to support each other as they learn to live their new life as women of God with renewed vitality and gratitude.
Our Motto: Ours is not a journey we would have chosen to start, but walking it together has brought comfort to the heart.

Maureen Miller
Circle of Friends Leader
Maureen is honored to lead Circle of Friends and has been a member of Cornerstone Church since 2001, the same year she married her husband, Bill. God took him to glory in 2018. No one chooses to be a widow, but Maureen praises God for His sovereignty, His love, His mercy and His grace. He sustains her, loves her, and gives guidance through His Word in this new season of her life. She prays that others, who may find themselves in the midst of this dilemma, will find comfort and encouragement in Circle of Friends.
Genevieve Douglass-Beckham
Circle of Friends Leader
I’m blessed to join Maureen in leading the Circle of Friends Ministry. Widowed in Feb 1999 after 27 years of marriage to Bob Douglass. I entered the new unknown world of widowhood at age 46 with our two young adult sons, Shawn & Daniel, now fatherless. This is where the faithfulness of the Lord opened my eyes and heart toward widows ministry.
The Lord directed me to Cornerstone Church in 2008, where I immediately felt at home. There was not a widows ministry at the time. I introduced the Womens Leadership to a Widows Helping Widows ministry I belonged to. This inspired the COF ministry at Cornerstone. What a blessing to watch it grow and minister to so many. Now I come to Circle of Friends with 22 years’ experience in widows ministry and grief support and I look forward to serving the widows as the Lord leads. God is faithful and always provides. My life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.
