Thanksgiving Food Drive Update!

Thanks to the generosity of our church family, we get to bless 230 students and their families from 9 Long Beach schools and one Lakewood School! Each one of these students will receive a $75 grocery gift card, a Gospel of John, a hand-decorated bag from our children’s ministry and an encouraging note from Local Outreach Minister Richard Hixson.

As we enter this time of year when we gather around a table, filled with an abundance of favorite treats, we know that some in our local community are unable to join in such a blessing. We are grateful that because of your cheerful giving, we are able to bless the tables of those in need.

We pray that as they gather with friends and family, each person would experience the boundless love of Jesus and know that every good and perfect gift comes from God.

Please join us in praying that this small demonstration of God’s love would transform hearts so that many people might place their faith in Jesus as the one whose life, earthly ministry, and work on the cross, made it possible for each of us to enjoy a fully restored relationship with our Father in heaven. We are thankful for your generosity and especially for your prayers!

As the bags are distributed the week of November 13, please pray for these specific needs: Long Beach Schools Prayer Guide

• Monday: Pray for believers to have access to local schools so that they might be salt and light to the children of our community.

• Tuesday: Pray that believers who teach or study in our area schools may be effective witnesses to their classmates, students, and peers.

• Wednesday: Pray that those involved in providing Thanksgiving Food Bags would be seen as the hands and feet of Jesus.

• Thursday: Pray that students and families who receive the Thanksgiving Food Bags may have open hearts to the Good News of Jesus Christ.

• Friday: Pray that God would meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the students living in difficult family situations.

• Saturday: Pray for students to come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and become connected to a local, Bible-teaching church.

• Sunday: Pray that Long Beach educators would be guided by God’s Truth as they shape the minds of their students.
